The Pimoroni 5x5 RGB Matrix Breakout (PIM435) is a compact and versatile LED display module featuring 25 individually controllable RGB LEDs arranged in a 5×5 matrix. Powered by the IS31FL3731 LED driver, the board communicates over I2C, making it easy to integrate with microcontrollers, single-board computers, and embedded development platforms. Its small footprint makes it ideal for projects where space is limited but vibrant visual feedback is required.
Each LED can display a wide spectrum of colors with adjustable brightness, allowing developers to create animations, status indicators, scrolling patterns, icons, mini dashboards, and interactive lighting effects. The onboard driver handles PWM control internally, reducing processor workload and enabling smooth animations without consuming significant system resources.
