The iStarUSA BPU-340HD is a high-density hot-swap storage backplane that converts three standard 5.25" drive bays into a four-drive 3.5" SAS/SATA storage array — maximizing drive capacity in existing server and workstation chassis without requiring additional drive bay space. Supporting transfer rates up to 12Gb/s via SAS III and SATA III, it delivers full-speed throughput for both HDDs and SSDs up to 14TB per drive. Hot-swap capability allows individual drives to be replaced under load without system downtime, making it suitable for always-on storage environments.
The aluminum construction with conductive dissipation grooves provides passive heat management optimized for high-performance drive operation, supplemented by an 80mm active cooling fan with a front-panel speed control switch. RAID 0/1/1+0/5 configurations are supported with a compatible external RAID controller, enabling both performance and redundancy setups. LED indicators for power, fan, and temperature provide real-time status at a glance. Available in Blue, Silver, Red, and BPL colorways to complement any rack or tower chassis.
