The iStarUSA BPU-230HD converts two standard 5.25" drive bays into three hot-swappable 3.5" SAS/SATA drive bays — delivering a 3:2 storage density gain in chassis with limited bay availability. Supporting transfer rates up to 12Gb/s via SAS III and SATA III, it handles modern high-capacity HDDs and SSDs at full interface speed. Hot-swap capability allows drives to be replaced or added while the system remains powered on, minimizing downtime in production storage environments.
The built-in 70mm fan maintains front-to-back airflow across all three drive bays for consistent thermal management under continuous load. LED indicators for power, fan status, and temperature provide real-time monitoring without requiring software. Full aluminum construction ensures structural stability and efficient passive heat dissipation alongside the active cooling. RAID configurations are supported with a compatible external controller, making the BPU-230HD suitable for redundant and high-performance storage setups.
