The Pimoroni Pirate Audio Speaker PIM485 combines a mini mono speaker, a 1.3-inch IPS display, and an I2S DAC/amplifier on a single HAT for the Raspberry Pi. It suits compact audio builds such as a tiny music player, internet radio, sound effect player, or small games console. The built-in 1W speaker isn’t the loudest, but it’s a practical all-in-one option for small projects.
Pimoroni’s Pirate Audio installer configures the display library, I2S audio, and SPI, then installs Mopidy with Pimoroni’s plugins to show album art and track information and map the buttons to playback controls. The board measures 65 × 30.5 × 9.5mm. A Raspberry Pi is not included.
