The iStarUSA BPU-350SATA converts three standard 5.25" external drive bays into five accessible 3.5" or 2.5" SAS/SATA hot-swap drive slots — one more drive than the BPU-340SATA in the same three-bay footprint. Supporting SAS I/II and SATA I/II/III at up to 6Gb/s with 12TB compatibility, it delivers high-density storage expansion for server, NAS, and workstation environments. Full aluminum construction with conductive dissipation grooves and an 80mm cooling fan with front-to-back airflow ensures thermal stability during continuous operation.
Hot-swap functionality allows drives to be added, removed, or replaced while the system remains powered on — minimizing downtime in production storage environments. The BPL variant features a black plastic lockable handle for physical drive security against unauthorized removal. RAID and JBOD configurations are supported with a compatible external controller, making it suitable for both redundant and high-capacity non-RAID storage builds.
