The iStarUSA BPU-230SATA converts two standard 5.25" external drive bays into three accessible 3.5" or 2.5" SAS/SATA hot-swap drive slots. Supporting SAS I/II and SATA I/II/III at up to 6Gb/s with 12TB compatibility, it delivers compact storage expansion for server, NAS, and workstation environments where bay space is limited. Full aluminum construction with conductive dissipation grooves and a 70mm cooling fan with front-to-back airflow ensures thermal stability under continuous operation.
Hot-swap functionality allows drives to be added, removed, or replaced while the system remains powered on — minimizing downtime. The BPL variant includes a black plastic lockable handle for physical drive security. RAID 0/1/1+0/5 configurations are supported with a compatible external RAID controller, making it suitable for data redundancy, performance, and disk-to-disk backup applications.
