The iStarUSA BPN-DE350SS is the third-generation trayless hot-swap hard drive cage, converting three standard 5.25" external drive bays into five accessible 3.5" SAS/SATA hot-swap slots. Supporting 6Gb/s transfer rates via SAS I/II and SATA I/II/III, it handles high-capacity drives up to 12TB in server, NAS, and workstation deployments. The trayless design eliminates the need for drive caddies — drives insert and remove directly for the fastest possible drive access.
The aluminum front bezel includes a metal key lock to physically secure installed drives against unauthorized removal. An 80mm fan with adjustable speed control and removable fan cover maintains thermal stability during continuous operation while keeping noise levels manageable. Full aluminum integrative-shaping construction provides structural rigidity and maximum passive heat dissipation. RAID 0/1/5/10 configurations supported with a compatible external controller.
