Why business Wi-Fi matters

Wi-Fi is part of the working day, not just a customer convenience. Staff use it for cloud software, inventory tools, calls and connected devices. When the wireless network struggles, a routine task can turn into a delay for both your team and your customers.

A well-planned business network helps keep these activities moving. The goal is to match coverage, capacity and management to your space, rather than simply buying the access point with the biggest speed number.

01

Keep daily work moving

Give staff a better wireless foundation for cloud apps, order entry and video meetings. Reliable coverage helps reduce interruptions caused by weak Wi-Fi.

Business value: fewer avoidable workflow delays.
02

Welcome guests thoughtfully

Create a separate guest network for visitors instead of sharing employee credentials. Configure access restrictions so guest traffic stays away from internal resources.

Business value: a more professional guest experience.
03

Plan for busy hours

Count the laptops, phones and other devices competing for wireless airtime. Choose capacity and access point placement around peak use, not just your quietest hour.

Business value: a network planned for real demand.
04

Make management simpler

Instant On offers app and web management, with no licensing or subscription fees for its standard management service. Monitor your network and adjust settings as needs change.

Business value: simpler oversight as your team grows.
Start with the right diagnosis: An access point improves wireless connectivity. It cannot fix an internet-provider outage, an overloaded internet plan or every application problem. Check where the slowdown starts before upgrading.

At a glance

Four access points. Four practical fits.

These models share the Instant On management experience, but their wireless capabilities, Ethernet ports and installation options differ.

Which one fits your business?

AP22

For everyday business connectivity

Start here when your team needs Wi-Fi for daily tasks in a small office, café or retail space. Plan placement around the areas where staff and guests actually work.

AP22D

For Wi-Fi and wired devices in the same room

Choose this when a reception desk, hotel room or office needs Wi-Fi plus Ethernet connections for devices such as an IP phone or printer. Its extra ports can make a limited wall connection more useful.

AP25

For busier shared spaces

Consider this for a busy office or common area. Its 4×4 radio on 5 GHz makes it a candidate when wireless demand is higher. Client capabilities and a suitable wired network still matter.

AP32

For compatible devices ready for 6 GHz

Consider this when your business is introducing Wi-Fi 6E or other compatible 6 GHz devices. The additional spectrum can help in congested environments; older 2.4/5 GHz devices do not gain access to 6 GHz simply by changing the access point.

AP25 or AP32? Choose around your workload and devices. AP25 emphasizes 5 GHz capacity; AP32 adds access to 6 GHz for compatible clients. A newer Wi-Fi generation is not automatically the better fit for every workplace.

Build the complete connection

Good Wi-Fi starts before the access point

01 / SERVICEInternetYour provider supplies the connection and internet bandwidth.
02 / ROUTINGRouter or gatewayConnects your local network to the internet and applies network policies.
03 / WIRED NETWORKSwitch + cablingConnects equipment; a compatible PoE switch can also power access points.
04 / WIRELESSAccess pointsBring Wi-Fi to the areas where employees and customers need it.

For a straightforward wired installation, connect the access point to your existing network and provide compatible power. Larger spaces may need multiple access points and a coverage plan. A 2.5 GbE uplink needs a compatible switch port and cabling to operate at that link speed.

Before you order

  • Map your space: Include walls, floors, stockrooms and the busiest work areas.
  • Count peak usage: Look at simultaneous devices and applications, not just employee headcount.
  • Check power: Confirm the adapter bundle or compatible PoE standard and switch power budget.
  • Check device support: A 6 GHz plan needs compatible clients and appropriate configuration.
  • Separate access: Plan employee and guest networks, then verify their access rules.

Common questions

Do I need business access points if I already have a router?

Your router may be enough for a very small space with light use. Dedicated access points become useful when you need better placement, coverage across more rooms, more wireless capacity or simpler management of several access points.

Will a new access point make my internet plan faster?

No. It may improve the wireless link inside your business, but your internet service still sets the available internet bandwidth. Test both wired and wireless connections to identify the bottleneck.

Does AP32 use all three frequency bands at once?

No. AP32 supports 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz, but its dual-radio design allows two active bands at a time. Plan the configuration around both newer and existing devices.

Is there a recurring management subscription?

HPE states that Instant On app and web management do not require licensing or subscription fees. Internet service, hardware, installation and any separately purchased support remain separate costs.
